Well.... here we are.

Another new year. Thankful for that, by the way.

So, are you a resolution person? A goal person? Do you add things or take away things? I mean, do you add "I will learn French this year" or do you take away "sodas" all year? Do you plan to get healthy? Get married? Get single? Get skinny? Get muscular? Get rich? Get sober?

Let's face it, there's  A LOT of things you can do with the start of a new year!

I definitely AM a goals person. Resolution, not so much, but goals, OMG, yes! I sat with my 2022 planner and went from back to front. I thought of what I want NEXT New year to look like and then planned backwards. So I have a little foundation month to work with, so to speak, this month.

So guess what I did first?

YESSS! I painted the darkroom! Now, this means the shooting room is a DISASTER until I get things back in order, BUT.... I have a darkroom that is ALMOST completely painted! When that happens, we move the enlargers in, the light table in and the work table and chemistry back in.

AND THEN!?!?

WE MAKE ART! I've gone a year with no nest to create the things I love the most. A year with no "me cave" to lose track of time in"....oh...

I mean, ever been to a casino? Where it's all black and no windows and you're all focused and having fun so you don't realize how time is flying? Is the same psychology in the darkroom, let me tell ya.

I've already chosen what to create first...yeah, chemigrams and watergrams are up first. The other thing I want to do?

I HAVE A BLACK ROOM.

I want to bodypaint glow in the dark and shoot with black lights. Anyone down to come play? heh, heh. I can't wait to create some magic.

I'm creating things that I can't WAIT to create! Beauty and whimsy and absolute MAGIC.

OKAY, so what does this mean for you? Other than having to listen to me gush about my darkroom...

Well,

it means some incredible portrait opportunities. Think SUPER creative boudoir! Think artsy kid portraits! Think a look you don't see other places!

OR

Think workshops.

The camera obscura will be back soon, watergrams, chemigrams, gum bichromate, gum oil, kallitype, ziatype, cyanotype, let me count the workshops.

There will be 12 coming up. You'll have the opportunity to pay for them one by one, or in bundles...

Have I mentioned how much 2022 is going to FREAKING ROCK!?!?!? We're here...

We're setting up the good stuff, we're about to produce work that's going to KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF.

So.

That resolution thing?

Don't just take away. Don't "lose" weight, "stop" drinking, "quit" smoking. I mean, do those things, BUT...

ADD THINGS.

Add some art (workshops)

Add some memories (workshops and/or photo shoots)

Add something to hand down to friends and family when you're gone. (exist in those photos!)

We just made another year....we're all a year closer to being remembered in photographs. Exist in MANY. Let your personality SHINE.

If you don't want to come in and do photos? Make sure you're in your own. Make sure you print them all.

If you want to learn how to take better ones, well, add in a 2022 workshop.

I can fit into any of your resolutions! LOL! Even the "lose weight/get in shape" one! I'm all in on that one, too! Message me, we'll be accountability buddies!

But for now,

I'm going to go get things together....I have many many goals to achieve this year. Mark my words...
