Alright, yeah yeah yeah....
I have iphone pics up in here.
WHY!?
Because I'm gonna talk about GOALS. You know, RESOLUTIONS if ya will.
I see a lot of people talking about resolutions and some say NO, they have GOALS, not resolutions. They have inspiration or plans, they have WHATEVER WORD... So fill in whatever word that you prefer when you read this. I'm going with goals... because it's shorter to type than resolutions. Honestly. That's it. That's my reason and I'm sticking to it.
Okay...so...as many of you know, 2023 was simply craptastic over here. My husband was in the hospital for 50% of the year. Our house flooded on Christmas eve of 2022 leaving us to fight with insurance, live elsewhere, and renovate our entire downstairs through 2023. My social media was hacked (I'm still not the admin of my own Flyhippie facebook page...) The renovating was super fun. The rest? Not so much.
This all lead me, about 2 weeks before New Year's Day, to really dive into what changes I wanted to implement. I was lucky...the universe smiled on me in the form of an email from Hal Elrod. Yeah, the man who wrote "The Miracle Morning". He had an updated version coming out and wanted to know if I'd like to be on the book launch team! So through November and December, I had zoom calls with Hal. I read the NEW Miracle Morning before it was even released. (Which I have now read FIVE TIMES). It was a practice I'd done and let go during the drama of 2023....
But then, it became a goal. Up at 5am. Doing meditation, exercise, visualization, affirmations, journaling, and reading.
Here's the thing. I've gained a lot of weight. I hate it. I needed and wanted to lose it, so YAY morning workouts! With all of the crazy of my year, I'd just let it go.
I'm a bookworm anyhow and ALWAYS woke up and read.
Meditating is my jam....but...The rest? Not always on the to-do list as much.
Enter, one of my sista mamas. (Yes. A group of us that raised our kids together and home schooled them together and stayed best friends FOREVER...) She found a place that was doing soul workshops. Intentions and Manifesting...all of it. Yep.
Reike, numerology, meditations, manifesting....all the things I love. We've done two workshops so far and have two more booked at this place. (Native McKinney...if you're in the area...OMG...loooove them!)
Anyhow: So two nudges from the universe.
So halfway through December, I was listening to a Mel Robbins podcast and she mentioned that it's a great idea to journal every day but use the SAME PROMPT for a month. Write what you want life to look like in a year, but write it as you already HAVE ACHIEVED IT. So I began.
It made me incredibly intentional on my goals and what I wanted to achieve. what I wanted life to look like in a year. I have that list ON FLEEK. (so to speak)
Then...a workshop with Hal Elrod came up. He had us write down those goals. But then? Pick our most important one on the list. Then, action steps to achieving it. Do nothing until you've worked towards that ONE GOAL. As you achieve it, work on the next...then the next...
So my biggest goal was in business. I know how many sessions I want per week and how much I should make each month. Check. Just gotta do the action steps now..
Then, my art. Then, connecting with friends more. Getting intentional with my friendships. Those sista mamas? They're seeing a lot more of me this year.
OH...and speaking of a lot more of me. ahem.
I've lost 20 pounds. I'm not where I want to be yet. I'm actually 5 pounds from where I was when I started losing my mind on how much I've gained. See all those yoga clothes? They don't even fit yet. I'm doing morning yoga IN MY PAJAMAS.
So here's the thing. I have all the goals. I'm doing a yoga challenge. I'm doing a manifesting challenge. I'm even doing an art challenge. They're mostly 21 - 31 days.
What happens in February? How do we keep the momentum going? How do we celebrate February eve and not forget what New Years Eve held? There's really a big part of me that wants to start a zoom meeting once a week. Where everyone is welcome. A check in on goals, if you will...but...
Should I start in February? Start now? What do you think? How do you do it?
So this blog? It's not photography. It's not about what's coming up or any of that. (hence the iphone pictures of my morning things...this morning actually) It's goals. It's accountability towards them. We all have them. How do we stay inspired? How do you keep each other accountable??? WHAT CAN WE DO!?!? I want all of the input here. I'm really and truly open to all the ideas!
