I mean, it all did. And it went quickly.
One minute, I'm booked every single day, and the next...poof. Quarantine.
My quarantine is interesting. At home, I have 5 foster kids under 7 years old. I home school two of those kids.
At the studio, I'm constantly creatively busy. It's an interesting mix.
So when I'm needing to blog, typically, I'm wondering what to say and how to say it. Now? Dang. I have so much to say. And it's all fragmented.
People are quarantined and having to home school their kids. Heck, I home schooled all of mine and am now home schooling two foster kids. I can give tips on that! (And I did on my facebook page...I'll do more, though...)
I also have two workshops coming up so I'd love to tell you all about THOSE! In May, I have a gum bichromate workshop and I also have a silver process workshop. You can sign up for those here if you'd like! Photography Workshops and you can search all of the workshops offered by professional photographers. You can put in just TEXAS if you want the ones here. There's a bit of information on my workshops there, but I'll get more information to you once I can gather my thoughts.
Also, shoots. Do I do them or do I wait? I keep being asked and honestly, I'm not sure yet. I've put off some shoots so far, I've had some reschedule themselves, I've had events cancel. I've been in the studio every day that I can just to catch up on editing. None of my "fostering" appointments have been canceled. Most of my photography ones have been moved. A conference I can't wait to attend has been postponed and I don't know until when. My networking meetings have been canceled or moved to online.
So what are YOU doing during this time? We're all hunkered down the best we can be. How are you coping? I did sign up for an online class that I've been wanting to do. So that'll be fun. It's unrelated to anything artistic, so it's a true diversion! I'm reading more. I'm always with my kids if I'm not at the studio, so that hasn't changed. I might teach an online "how to shoot on manual" class.... because really, we can do that from home, yes? I think it'd be FUN!
Plus, we need to keep sharp and focused and home and safe, RIGHT!?
Truly, tell me what you're doing, all the positive impact that taking a breath has had (we know the hardships) and what you'd like to do.
This, too, shall pass...
And in the meantime....let's share our knowledge. Next blog I do will be soon....and probably homeschool tips. If you missed the ones I have, they're here: Flyhippie Homeschool Tips just in case you've found yourself in this new lifestyle for a bit.
Also, sign up for my workshops! I can't do those online, but they're in May so go ahead and register since I only take up to 5 people a class.
And if you're interesting in online photography classes....let me know! I'm totally game for that!
Also, if you need photos, we can figure that out. I do have some things in mind for the near future, so don't discount photo shoots!
And in the end,
just breathe and feel peace....and laugh.
NEVER EVER forget to laugh....
